'Sweetbriar' was chosen in honor of our life in and relationship with Christ which make living sweet, but also acknowledges the briars inherent in a sin-filled world (Micah 7:4a). 'Patch' is a nod to the CiRCE Institute, Wendell Berry, the Southern Agrarians, the Inklings, and Frodo Baggins & the Shire, and refers to rootedness, covenant community, and our own little patch of ground.

Backsplash, III
Home from church and working again. This time the tiles require fitting together so we'll have room for the green accents and make sure everything fits in a small space, so the going is a bit slow, but we're moving nonetheless.
The little x's are tile spacers. They're temporarily placed between tiles in an effort to keep grout lines straight. I'll see if I can get a picture of some of them still stuck in so you can see how they work.
I love the detail. What are the little 'x's - part of the main tile or extraneous matter?
