'Sweetbriar' was chosen in honor of our life in and relationship with Christ which make living sweet, but also acknowledges the briars inherent in a sin-filled world (Micah 7:4a). 'Patch' is a nod to the CiRCE Institute, Wendell Berry, the Southern Agrarians, the Inklings, and Frodo Baggins & the Shire, and refers to rootedness, covenant community, and our own little patch of ground.
My coffee is cold-brewed (although it's caramel crème tea in the pot in the picture); and that's no-rBST heavy cream in the cow-creamer and demerara sugar in the sugar bowl. We were out of biscotti when I found some Tuesday evening at Fresh and Easy (our newest grocery shopping find), a smallish fresh and organic foods market that opened recently a couple miles from our house, with great values, too.
Gorgeous! That's the way to do it.
