Constitution: Third Amendment

Amendment III

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

  1. Do you think this will ever become an issue? The 1st, 2nd and 4th are issues, as are others, but it seems to me that this one sort of gets brushed over. Maybe it is just me, but I get the impression that "it is there but we don't really need it" kind of attitude is prevalent. Just curious as to your thoughts.

  2. I think it had good reason to be included and maybe that's why we see it as a bit ho-hum; we've gotten used to it. I also think that those in power now would take any advantage they could and am glad it's there. Who knows what the UN might try some day, especially if we don't get out of it.
